A few artists that my friend has been telling me about:
- Lygia Pape
I really liked this piece, and I really like how she said that art is a way of "knowing the world." I feel that this is why I cannot ever get away from art, because it is essential to everyday life.
Just after uploading this photo do I realize this is similar to what I'm working on with my re-model project.

- Gego (Gertrud Louise Goldschmidt)
My friend showed me her work and I thought it really amazing. A couple weeks later, the project I turned in for Art and Meditation looked to be inspired by her, and I didn't even notice until afterwards when my friend pointed it out.
I love her drawings.
- CADA (Colectivo Acciones de Arte)
I haven't had too much time to look into this group of artists, but I'm immediately interested in reading their bio -- "CADA incorporated strategies of theatricality and performance as an essential element to all its 'art actions,' while questioning the practices and institutions of all politics and conceiving art as a necessary social practice that eradicated the traditional distance between the artist and the spectator."
I've been more and more curious about the "spectator."
- Claudy Jongstra is an artist that my friend might do an internship with this winter, in the Netherlands. My friend just happened to show this to me after I had chosen my material as natural dyes, and I'm excited to look more into her work, as Jongstra has a seemingly sustainable and no-waste, non-toxic process of dyeing.
